YouTube represents one of the biggest databases on the internet, which gives you access to a lot of videos that you cannot watch in your lifetime. It also represents a really good place for great motivational speeches, university lectures, tutorials, and many things.

YouTube is a really great place if you want to learn new things, and also publish your own videos. You can use it as an online library in which you put your own videos too, without having to lose hundreds of gigabytes of your memory.

If you had no time or interest to watch a long YouTube video
but were only interested in seeing a short portion of it,
where a particular word is mentioned, Invideo can help you. It
is a light extension that once is installed, it is shown on
the video page, on the right side of the video that you are
currently watching. There you can type any search term that
you want to find out in the video transcript and then
hopefully get that same match inside it.
I have already
written
about a really helpful Chrome extension that can be used to
hide recommended videos on YouTube, but I wanted to write
about it once again, as I want to emphasize something that may
have slipped unnoticed in the first article. This Chrome
extension does not hide recommended videos on the right side
of the video that you are watching, but also on the homepage.
I learned about it only a few months after I initially started
using it and the reason for that is because you have to
manually go and turn on this option for yourself.
I recently learned about a new developer related site that I really liked. It is a place where many recordings of conferences about software development have been listed. Continue reading
We watch a lot of videos online like news, sports, friends’ recordings, tutorials, TED talks, and many others. HTML5 video provides native APIs to accelerate playback of any video, but most implemented players either hide or limit this functionality. Video Speed Controller is a Chrome extension that helps with this issue. Continue reading
Have you ever gone to watch a short informational or educational YouTube video, only to find out that two hours have passed, and you are still watching many other related videos? If that’s your case, then you are not alone. We all get trapped into this process of mindless watching many YouTube videos without any prior intention. Luckily, there is a really beneficial Chrome extension, called DF YouTube. It hides recommended videos on YouTube and gives you the opportunity to only focus on the video that you are currently watching. Continue reading
Now you can learn a lot of things from the internet, from
different websites like Wikipedia, Coursera, YouTube, Udacity,
Udemy etc., but you may not be interested in spending a lot of
time with some beginner stuff. I know that the last sentence
may sound a bit rude about people who are just starting to
learn something, but it was not my intention to do that. In
reality, we are all beginners at a certain period of time. In
this post I will be talking about watching videos faster on
YouTube, or to be more specific: speeding your process of
learning on YouTube, by watching some videos faster. (You can
use this method on other videos too, but I prefer to use it
mostly on videos about learning.)

More than half of the population of the world
actually uses social media and finding someone who is not
using them is very rare, that it can even be seen as a strange
occasion. And also, the vast majority of the adults use social
media during a good portion of the day, that in fact resembles
a lot of hours wasted only on scrolling down the wheel of the
mouse, or swiping on a smartphone. Only a few friends of mine
don’t use Facebook, because they see it as a big waster of
time, so they have been able to resist using it.
