Many writers these days publish their earnings to inspire
others of what’s possible. That gives you the impression that
you are also able to do that in the first article that you
write.
You write the first draft and hit publish. You expect a week
or two and see that you barely have any readers for your
article. Then, you try it a second time and expect that this
time, it will be different.
You spend a lot more time polishing the format, adding headers
and great pictures. Then, this article also turns out to
capture the attention of very few readers.
I have published more than 270 articles in this blog now and I
still have difficulties getting started, despite the fact that
I may have a particular topic that I want to write about, or
that I have already made a decision to start writing. I just
find other things that I could be spending my time on and this
makes me procrastinate and delay starting. However, once I get
started, I am more likely to follow through and finish writing
the article, as I have gained some momentum and want to go
further and finish it. A friend of mine has informed me about
a tool that I have used to get started for writing a few
articles that I have already published here called
TheMostDangerousWritingApp.
Probably most of us have been in a situation in which we
have sent an email that we did not want to send. We might
have not finished formatting, or double checking it before
the actual sending process, but we hit the Send
button. Most of the times, it can be unintentionally, and as
a result, we may write one or two PS follow-ups as replies to that email, adding or sending
clarifications about certain things that have been mentioned
in that email. During this week, I learned a small trick
from a friend of mine that can help you in such occasions.

One really cool application that saves me time is
PhraseExpress. I have been using it for a few years now and I
am nothing short of impressed by its usefulness and the
ability to help you out in your efforts to be more productive.
We all have our difficult times, when we feel not that good.
These problems tend to take a lot of our attention that we
suddenly forget all the other great opportunities that we
possess. Our head is mostly filled with these dark opinions
about how unfortunate we are and then we try to recall other
periods in our lives when we were going through tough times
too. It is difficult to become aware that these problems are
usually temporary and that a way to overcome them is most
definitely nearby.

In the end of October, I wrote an
article publicly
declaring that I will start a new 30 day challenge of
journaling every single day. Fortunately, it went really well.
I journaled every single day for a month and now I am planning
to continue this habit of journaling. Here I am going to tell
you how did I manage to pull this off on a regular basis.
This is my second 30 day challenge that I announced publicly
in my blog. Previously, during the first half of this year,
I wrote that I wanted to do a workout session every day for
a month, but I was not consistent during that time. After learning a
few lessons the hard way going through my previous challenge,
I decided to implement them during this new one.

Journaling can help an individual record the events that have
happened in life, collect ideas, solve problems and make
decisions. It has been mentioned repeatedly from a lot of
authors of self-help books and articles as a very powerful
tool for one’s change. One great
article
that I have read today has made me consider to make journaling
as a daily routine. To help me with that, I am starting a new
30 day challenge, starting from tomorrow.

A few years ago a friend of mine told me that when he is
trying to make an important decision, rather than just
thinking about it, he used a clipped piece of paper for it. He
wrote down there what where his current thoughts, possible
approaches and alternatives towards the end. According to him,
this is a very beneficial way of making decisions, as it tends
to be a rational one and which is also based on realistic
circumstances and surprising obstacles, which are often
forgotten when only thinking about them.

If you are like me, you already have been hearing a lot of
reasons that were mentioned to convince you to have goals,
because you should have at least something to aim at,
something can inspire you to take action. You do not simply
enter in your car and drive 10 kilometers without having any
idea about the destination that you are going to. Similarly,
this should also serve as a reminder about the importance of
having goals that are clear and that are also specifically
defined, so that you know whether you achieved them or not.
