It is not just you that you are facing with these types of difficulties, and you will surely not be the last one that will face similar or other ones as well. However, during these moments usually only a few continue their path that they began, without having any shadow of doubt, or at least they have willpower and an intrinsic motivation that drives them.

These people are the ones that are usually driven by their own reasons, which serve as their fuel. Whenever a critique comes towards them, they do not let it stop their journey towards the destination they have started to go. They either learn from them, or they simply ignore them, without losing time. Their reasons are so empowering to them, thus they do not fall back the crowd but tend to take the lead of it.

Research shows that when you have compelling reasons, a purpose for doing your work, you will be about five times more productive, because you are driven and each difficulty see as a test for your determination and seriousness about your goals.

A great example about this comes from Tyson’s match against Boston Douglas. Two days before his match against the undefeated champion at the time, Douglas’s mother died. He did not quit before even trying. He did something that maybe the majority of people would not choose to do: He decided to fight against Tyson as planned, and even won the match, because he had a very compelling reason.

There are a lot of other examples that show how people who had reasons to do what they were about to do usually ended up producing remarkable results that we are all awed by. You are not the only one that is facing difficulties. There are probably a lot of other people who are maybe going through even more difficulties then you, but they do not quit. Thus, try to find a very compelling a reason to do what you want to do, and remind yourself about it each time your level of willpower to work drops.
