A lot of people do not manage to finish their tasks on time as they are supposed to do and for this there might be several reasons. Deadline is a commonly used word in different areas of life and the two words that when combined form it can help us get a new insight on how we should consider it and that can make us more productive.
Treating the deadline as a line that when somebody goes beyond it causes death might come in hand to respect them and actually get more productive. I agree that it may sound a bit extreme, though we are witnesses that deadlines tend to boost people’s motivation of acting, especially when there is not much time left. Almost every student is preparing for an exam the night before it, employees try to rush up to finish their project and companies try to increase their incomes especially during the last quarter of the year. When we see a deadline that is too far in the future, we might be putting the work off and not start until a few days before the deadline. However, the rarest excuse that I hear about people is having too much time to do something. Instead everybody complains of not having enough time to accomplish what they were supposed to do and that sometimes isn’t because of the lack of time itself, but because of the delayed beginning to do the job.
That said, considering the deadline as a line of death we can try to not even go near it, so starting early and finishing everything slower than the traditional pace can make us more effective by doing the right things and, also efficient by doing them right.
