It is not secret that a lot of people wake up being tired, uninspired and afraid to face the world, because of a challenging project that they have to do, or a tiring report that they have to write for their boss. This way the alarm clock gets a usual knock down and the snooze button is exhausted of repeated presses that your finger does, while you are still having a dream of swimming with dolphins. Two hours later, you get into your job late and find an angry face of your boss pointing figures at you for the declining rate of the profits of the company. However, a simple habit could change your day.
It might be an exaggerated scenario and though it may sound a bit hard, it is partially true to a lot of us. However, the end of the day is a proper witness that things were not that bad and that your day was not filled with too much pain as you were imaging. This is also another actual fact that often forget to remind ourselves.
BJ Fogg is a professor of Psychology at Stanford University, who gave a talk a couple of months ago, where he showed a very interesting way of starting your day. He recommended one of his clients to say to himself as soon as he wakes up: It’s gonna be a great day.
It sounds a bit weird and a bit of a cliché, but after a few months the same client contacted the professor and thanked him for his advice. He did not wait until he asked thousands of people. Such a simple advice was enough for him to start the implementation and he then started to realize the impacts that it had in his life. It might look unbelievable, but your life could also get improved with a simple optimistic expression like that. Usually, small changes made over the right course of the road lead to massive improvements.
Do not let my words spoil you from the full talk that the professor gave. You can watch it below.
