When you reach an important goal that you have been putting a lot of effort to accomplish, you might feel gorgeous, and have the impression about yourself that you are now a successful person. You have been reached the top of a mountain, after a long journey that you had to pass and a lot of difficulties that you had to overcome. However, when you are staying on top of that mountain, you might be lucky if there is not any higher mountain that is excepting you to go.
People often lose their motivation when they get older, because they do not have any other goal that could attract them and make them feel alive and passionate and worth working for. There is a great quote that I would like to share today with you, which is related to this topic:
Goals are not only absolutely necessary to motivate us. They are essential to really keep us alive. Not having a goal is more to be feared than not reaching a goal. – Robert H. Schuller
Similarly, if you are young and think that the previous goal that you achieved before is sufficient for your entire life, than you are dying my friend. You might not believe, because you are still strong and have an alert mind, but you are not figuring out that you do not have an enthusiasm that would push you throughout the day. You are merely surviving, without any orientation that would serve you as a compass towards the torments of life.
All of us get sad and happy, but goals should become a fueling power that should constantly excite us. When we reach a goal, we begin our journey towards another one, towards a higher mountain that is expecting us to go there.
