We might be very fast at starting something, but we usually find ourselves quitting from and not finishing. The reasons why we quit might differ based on your own personality or your own circumstances, but this should not be as a curse that you think you should carry for the rest of your life. Rather this should serve as a lesson of hesitating to start everything that comes to you, and start working only on the things that you are ready to put sweat and tears towards them – in other words, you do not plan to quit at least for a few coming years.
Hesitation can make you feel isolated and abandoned from the society and your friends, because everybody is getting involved in main stream activities. Still, you should get comfortable being and looking like that, as it will definitely lead you to a new level of your comfort zone and will also help you focus more at things that are valuable to you.
Not everything that comes to your plate is supposed to get handled by you. You should identify your needs and set goals that are according to those needs, which will inspire you to be selective about the few things that you get involved in, but that you do them really well. Jumping from one task to another, simply to look as you are productive is not interesting. In fact, you might simply feel productive, but you are too far from getting the results that you are after, because you do not even know what you want, or you simply engage into trendy habits that are popular.
Greater focus is often followed by a better quality of the work that you do, which can lead to more commitment and a passion which gives you a fulfilling feeling that inspires other people around you as well. Then you are not only becoming a very valuable person for the team or the company that you are working in, but you are also increasing your satisfaction level and this can even impact in every aspect of your life, like your relationship, financials, or career.
Thus hesitating to work on everything that comes towards you should not be seen as unethical and morally wrong, as you cannot do everything, but you can master a few things and mastering them can be achieved only after getting a lot of expertise and when a lot of time passes. Your time is limited and you should invest it wisely on the things that really matter.
