Our daily life is consisted of patterns of behaviors and thought processes that we have been doing on a regular basis, that we also call them as habits. Whether we are aware of them or not, we do them. If we want to improve the quality of our lives, we must first try to form new habits that can be as means of achieving our goals in different areas like health, relationships, finance, or career. We think that when we have decided to form a new habit and planned our new behavior in detail, we will be able to perform it each day as planned. That is far from the truth. We might have a lot of failing attempts in the beginning that might even tempt us to think that we are simply not good at forming new habits and decide to not continue with the habit formation at all. However, we must be aware that a few failing attempts in the beginning do not represent an ultimate failure. Let’s say that you are currently trying to lose weight by forming a habit of eating healthier. You are successful during the first two days, but then you eat a chocolate and blame yourself about your inability to control yourself about eating that chocolate. Rather than thinking this as a loss of your battle, consider it as part of your journey towards your goal of losing weight. You must not expect to be an overnight person who has simply dropped every addiction of unhealthy food and that is totally immersed into the realm of green food. Things might take time to change and failing here and there must not make you even think that you have completely failed. Remember that you stayed two days without eating a chocolate.
If we are able to overcome our initial frustration and resistance while changing our old habits and replacing them with new ones, we might become more healthy and more productive, and simply enjoy a better quality of life that would otherwise be only imaginable. People who have changed their habits like stopping smoking, alcohol, eating junk food etc., have had their own obstacles and struggles that have challenged them to even self-doubt themselves. Some of the greatest conflicts that occur are usually performed into our heads, so do not quit up so easily, as you are not the only one who is being baffled by inner conflicts.
