What you are about to read might surprise you. It might break the conventional belief that is hold by a lot of us that people who are successful and performing at the top of their fields never failed in their past. We think that they are just born to be great and never had any wasted effort. However, this is far from the actual truth.
A professor of psychology and public affairs at Princeton University, Johannes Haushofer wrote his ‘CV of Failures’ a few years ago for his students, and only a few months ago, put it online in the hopes of informing others about the real journey to success.
It is really surprising to see such a successful person go through so much failures and rejections that might be even shocking to think about, as it is totally the opposite of the picture that we perceive when we think about success.
When people apply for a job, they usually hide their downfalls from their resumes, their past rejections that they had when applying for other job openings, or their failed projects that they have worked on. You only see their achievements, their successes and tend to start thinking that this is the whole story and nothing else is left aside.
The reason why I am writing about it here is that I want you to think about your past failures as lessons that have been necessary to learn before arriving at the targets that you have set for yourself. Even though you might not have been much successful up to this point in time, it is important to realize that you must not quit simply because something did not go well during the first try.
